iPhone 5S vs iPhone 5C vs Galaxy S4 vs HTC One – A Guide for Photographers
As a photographer you probably need a portable camera, one that easy to handle and one that takes great quality photos. Nowadays these cameras can be found on high end smart phones. Between the iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, Galaxy S4 and HTC One, which one takes the best photos?
A more affordable iPhone brand, the iPhone 5C comes in five exciting colours; white, pink, turquoise, yellow and green. It has an upgraded 8MP insight camera and an LED flash. It is important to note that the iPhone 5C does not have similar features or even features that can be said to be at par with the iPhone 5S. However, with its image stabilization, it can be said to be a slight improvement of the iPhone5.
Also launched this year, the iPhone 5S boasts of interesting features like a finger print reader, a 4 inch 1136×640 display and a 64 bit ARM chip. The iPhone 5S has an 8 mega pixel camera with an f2.2 aperture. It has an active sensor area of 1.5m pixels which is larger than any of the other iPhone models. It also has two LED flash (called true tone flash), one white and the other amber in color. It can take burst photos at a rate of 10 frames per second.
Samsung Galaxy S4
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the best phones manufactured this year. It has been commended for a camera that is excellent for up-close videos and photos. The camera has a 13 megapixel image sensor. However, its color reproduction has been faulted for producing images that look overexposed and too saturated. Although these photos may look good on the phone’s 5 inch screen, when transferred to a computer, the image quality is wanting. The camera produces excellent night shots with the flash on, and the 10x optical zoom has been lauded for detailed results. Samsung has been commended for making the best overall cameras on Android devices.
With the popular low resolution Ultra pixel camera with an f2.0 lens, the HTC one offers advanced imaging technology. The lens on the HTC One is physically larger than on the Galaxy S4, and the camera has been praised for producing excellent quality and high clarity photos. The HTC one has the Optical Image Stabilization feature and a good number of features like HDR, HTC Zoe and Panorama mode. The camera also boasts of tap exposure. You can change the exposure or the focus point on the scene by tapping on darker or lighter parts of the screen. It has one LED flash.
Having eliminated the iPhone 5C, the comparison is now between the iPhone 5S, Galaxy S4 and HTC One. When it comes to these three, it is difficult ascertaining which takes the best photos. Galaxy S4 offers more pixels than the iPhone 5S, as it has a 13 MP rear camera in comparison to 5C’s 8MP camera. The HTC One has a 4 MP camera. The iPhone S4 has dual flash, and this is impressive. Overall, Apple iPhone 5S has better picture quality and more interesting features, and hence is a must-try for every photographer.
